Multi-Purpose Keys

Multi-Purpose Keys

Each phone set has twenty eight (28) Virtual Multi-Purpose keys(VPK). These keys can be programmed for a number of functions including “Speed Dial” and line monitoring or Busy Lamp Field (BLF).

The BLF function gives users the ability to see if a team member is on or off their phone. A green BLF indicates that the user is not on their phone. A red BLF indicates that the user is on the phone.

The process to program these keys is as follows:

  1. Recover the unique IP address on the phone set by pressing the upper arrow key on the phone. The IP address will look something like 192.168.2.6.
  2. Enter this unique IP address into your browser.
  3. The user will be prompted to enter a user name (user) and password (password) to access the web interface of the phone.
  4. Once the web interface has been loaded, mouse over to the “Settings” tab and choose the “Programmable Keys” from the menu on the left.
  5. Select the page to the “Virtual Multi-Purpose Keys”.
  6. Click on “Edit VPK” for the line you would like to configure. Note: Lines 1-4 should not be changed, please start programming at line 5. A new window will pop up for each VPK configuration. Users can configure:
    • Mode – Speed Dial or BLF
    • Description – Name of person or entity you wish to configure on your phone
    • Value – 10 digit number of person for the VPK or three digit extension number
  7. Once done, press “Save” on this window and press “Save VPK” on the bottom of the Virtual Multi-Purpose Keys page again to apply the change.
  8. There are a total of twenty eight (28)  VPK’s. As more VPK’s are loaded into the in to the phone additional VPK’s will appear on the interface. These additional entries can be viewed by depressing “next Screen” on the handset.
